Friedlander, Blaine. "Love and Lies: Online Dating." Medical News Today. 08 Feb.2007. The National Science Foundation and the Institute of Social Sciences. 8 Mar. 2007 http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/medicalnews.php?newsid=62440.
Summary
In short, most men and women tell little white lies in their online dating profiles. Men mostly lie about their height and women lie about their weight. No real susprise here. It has prompted online dating sites to reevaluate the way they want suscribers to describe themselves by asking broader questions.
Importance
This is important forys the online dating world can change how they do business to make it better for the daters.
Connections
This is the first time I have researched online dating. I did use the same method on finding a reputable site for a previous paper.
Supporting Source
I am argueing how to change online dating in some way, (still not sure how yet). This article can be used to show how and why people lie and ways to make it not happen as much.
Argumentative Source
This is a study, not an argument, so i can't argue with the facts. I would have to say that men and women lie more about what they want and are looking for in a mate, though. Not being true to oneself is the biggest lie when it comes to dating online.
